What’s your ideal way to die?

I would like to die a swift, sudden, unexpected, painless death, but am thinking a little differently now. Still want to die as painlessly possible, but would like time before dying; some slow, terminal disease would not be a bad option if no pain is involved (am thinking of possibly fantastical powers of painkillers). At least would have an indication of how many days have left in life, so that can sort out who to give what, what grudges to resolve, which people to spend most time with, what things can stop doing happily, etc etc.
Indulge in your morbid fantasies, don’t snort at how impossible or unlikely it is.

1. Arrogant drivers – they make a mistake on the road and they give you a murderous look for pointing that out, as if you’re in the wrong for doing that
2. Irresponsible students who don’t pay back their study loans – they’re given financial assistance to pursue higher education and a chance at a better life, and are ingrate bastards for not paying back their loan when they have graduated and got their better lives. Even worse are those who have guarantors for their loans, and the poor guarantors suffers. Scum of the earth, really.
3. Old, cranky, inconsiderate teachers – who are impatient, hate students asking questions, refuse to admit their mistakes, pick on certain students to make their lives hell while in that class.
4. Two-faced people who treat you nice – and still insist on being nice to you even when you’re being standoffish with them. Give it up.
5. People who need to be told numerous times to return something they borrowed from you – ’nuff said of these stupid, annoying people who take their own sweet time to used the borrowed item and not even a courtesy note to say this will take a while, hope you don’t mind me borrowing it so long.
6. Persons who see verbal abuse as constructive criticism – just because you’re emotionally frustrated is no reason to make everybody else unhappy too.

Everyone hopes they will find The One. The perfect soul mate to spend the rest of their lives with. That one special person out there that’s supposed to be the perfect match for you.
The One is a concept that symbolises your true love is predetermined by some higher powers. That you are two halves of one soul, going through the paths of life to be reunited.
How can you tell if you’ve found The One? Some say you’ll feel in your heart when you do. Some people rely on significant moments in their courtship to confirm that that’s The One.
So along the way, in your search of The One, you love and leave many people whom you thought was The One, only to realise you were wrong. You may not even know for sure if The One for you is out there.
As for self, there is no such thing as The One. To self, The One is not chosen by the powers that be, it is a choice that am making to have that person to be The One. It would be a commitment am making to devote self to that person for the rest of self’s life. The relationship is not meant to be, it is made to be. To self, there is no higher compliment than knowing the person you love is there because that person wants to and made that commitment, and not because the person is making come true what was preordained. (This is taken for granted that the person does indeed love you to begin with, hence the voluntary commitment.)

A Single Life Looks More Attractive From This Point of View

There is talk of marriage in the house. Some people want to get married. Other people do not want some people to get married. So soon, at least. Among the questions thrown into this issue by several people are:
1. Does the future son/daughter-in-law make you feel proud for entering the family?
2. What has he/she to offer as a spouse to your child?
3. Are they financially capable to get married?
The third question was one of the main reasons the impending marriage was objected by other people. They are currently engaged, and planned to get married in a few months’ time because it is considered an auspicious time to get married – Tamil beliefs and all that.
That’s a fair reason. While marriages can work without a strong financial background, it would make life much easier if you do.
The second question isn’t really directed at the couple in mind, but just a question thrown into the discussion about them. It got me thinking, though. I’d like to get married if I find the right girl. But do I have anything to offer?
I can’t be lovable. I’m quite reserved. While I love babies, sometimes I can’t help but spank them. I’m extremely moody at times. I’m not very presentable; you can take me to your emergency, but not your dinner. I’m not very sociable either; my conversation skills are atrocious outside of the blog.
The first question also hit me at home. What it meant to the people who uttered the question during the discussion was that, is the girl/guy presentable enough to be presented as your daughter/son-in-law during the wedding reception?
Am I too strange for my future parents-in-law? Am I presentable enough because I don’t want to be a mushroom? Would my future parents-in-law feel ashamed of the way I look odd? Would my own family think I’m “too strange” to be presented as a groom?? (As a matter of fact, they do think I’m strange already.)
I thought marriage is a union between two people. It’s more than that. You’re not just creating your own family. You’re joining another family. And you have to meet their expectations as a spouse for their child.
If you don’t, you won’t be accepted into the family.
I already got wounded by this . Will it work?
So …
I don’t think I want to get married. Because she is still in my heart.

The blogger is against emotional abuse. The scars which this abuse leaves cannot be seen and its true damage cannot be determined. A victim who has been emotionally abused can bear the wounds for life. It can affect the way the victim lives his or her life and the way he or she views the world.
Emotional abuse is quite underrated compared to other visually brutal types of abuse or substance abuse. Emotional abuse can happen to anyone at anytime, even without the abuser realising he or she is committing it. That’s why the blogger has chosen to blog about this abuse.

A true family movie emphasing 'a Father-Son & Son-Father' relationship. The movie has been produced by ABCL, Reliance Big Pictures and Mad Entertainment. Writer & Director R. Balki has done a fabulous job of treating a family and medical subject so directly, lightly and beautifully. There is not much of melodrama that makes the movie heavy.
Story – Auro, is a 13-year old intelligent, happy, witty, young boy who is suffering from Progeria, a genetical disorder causing accelated ageing. He is the naughty school boy who throws all kinds of pranks at others but looks as old as a 78-year old man. Hence, his body is not suited to any childish activities like running, playing or eating spicy food. Auro lives with his mother (Vidya Balan) who is a gynaecologist and his grand-mother(Arundhati Naag), whom he calls, 'Bum' in the entire film. Auro does not know his father, Abhishek Bachchan, who is a young, idealist, honest politician. When Auro meets his father, what starts is a heart-touching father-son bonding. Auro dies only to unite Amol (his father) to Vidya (his mother). The political scenes are not so interesting.
The main cast comprises of Amitabh Bachchan (as never seen before in his 4 decade film career), Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Arundhati Naag(South Indian actress and a theatre personality), Paresh Rawaland others. Amitabhji has done an unimaginably awesome role by playing Auro. He does not look Amitabh at all in the entire movie. Amitabhji's prosthetic makeup done by Christien Tinsley and Dominie Till is commendable. All the other actors have also done a wonderful act especially Arundhati Nag as Auro's grandmother.Illayaraja's back ground score was really Amazing especially (udi udi & mere paa with Illayaraja's touch). Subjects so rare yet simple bring out the best in film actors, has surely been proved by this movie.
Auro's relationship with his school mate girl is very sweet. The lasts two scenes of 'round-and-round' and 'pichli se pichli se pichli mistake', acted by Auro bring tears into the eyes of the viewers. It touches all Maa-Paa's from the very depth of their hearts. I also had a tear at the end of the film. A 100% must watch film by the entire family. A great film and its my favorite too(i changed my drive name as Auro).

Counting My Blessings

I've been whining rather a lot lately. I do think it’s justified, but it’s still not very nice all the same. While life is not the best right now, there are some things I’m very grateful for:
1. Life at home is largely peaceful. Maybe because I’m hardly home that I hardly have an opportunity to pick a fight but anyway it’s a good thing that home is my sanctuary, especially since this is where I…
2. Meet friends I can’t see in person. I am, of course, referring to my blog buddies, particularly those who have been vocal and showing their concern during my difficult time at present. You guys remind me that I’m not a total failure.
3. Relatives who take time to see me every now and then. They too remind me that the person that I am is liked by them. I don’t see them often now but when I do, it’s like I’ve just seen them yesterday. Special mention goes to Vicky for being my text message buddy during every single work day… in a month we exchange about nearly a thousand text messages! Thankfully it only costs a coin to send one so the bill comes up to less than RS 10.
4. My books, they are my inanimate saviours; when there’s no one I can count on at that moment in time, my books will always be there, waiting.
5. My hug counter. I wish I can see who ‘hugs’ me there… but I guess who does it doesn’t really matter. Whenever I see the increase in the number of hugs, I feel the lurve.
6. Lastly, I’m so grateful I can blog. It’s my everything. I express myself here, I make friends here, I learn about myself here, I gain wisdom here, I try to make myself a better person here. I feel happy here, I feel loved here, I feel I can do anything I set my heart to here.

Two Minute Review : AVATAR

I was lucky to see Avatar few hours ago. It completely blew me and the whole room away and i dare to say it will do so to 80% of any audience anywhere. The remaining 20%, who always finds something to complain about, will whine about character development, dialog, story or the pop-corn.
Well, let me tell you: they went to this movie with the wrong expectations.
You have most likely met Cameron's previous work(s): Aliens, Terminator 1 & 2, The Abyss, Titanic (!), just to name a few.
So WHAT should you expect from Avatar??? MORE of the same!!! More of revolutionary film-making, more of grandiose new ideas, more of never-before-seen special effects, more of 150 minutes without relapsing, more of the James Cameron genius...
I am very happy that the trailers didn't give the full story away. Lots of emotions are waiting for the viewer, laughter and tears also. Cameron was very smart keeping the teasers as teasers, nothing more... as the full movie will take your breath away.
You will practically not notice that you are watching a non-existing world, it is sooooo real. Attention to detail is superb. You computer geeks will know what I am talking about. This move was not rushed in the making. No wonder it could not have been done before - not having the proper computing power.
The wild life, the jungle, the animals, the Na'vi-s, or the dragon-like flying creatures are all so life-like, they almost pop-off the screen (and in 3D they actually do :) .
The sound effects were so well done, that when I saw at the credits that Skywalker Sound was behind it, i could only think of "yessssss... now THAT makes sense." Cameron is a visionaire - and again, he delivers, with full blast.
A certain character says in the movie that Pandora (the planet where the story takes place) became his real world. My advice to you: let Pandora become YOUR real world for two and a half hours, let it make you completely forget about your life and problems, let it entertain you, move you, let it carry you away.
