Towards 30

May 31 2010

I noticed that a few close friends that I have at this point of my life now will be entering 30s this year.   For the past 4 weeks, my conversations with them have evolved around life after 30s.  Now that they have a steady career, steady streams of in-come, some are deciding on their next dream family, some brand new car, few thinking of investing into businesses.

I will be turning 30 in a few weeks and have another 10 years before the big 40.  I have been asking myself what do I want to have achieved by 40.  What do I want to have accumulated to prepare for my life  journey into years of 40s.  The list is getting longer.  Here’s few that I want so far..

Driving my dream car(Ambassador)…
Be d’ Man of  Business (only few will know what is this)
Have my own Digital Condo set up by 33 with the latest wireless and home IP gadgets.
Sufficient cash to start up a new business in Pollachi or my google valet franchise (by than it might be something else).
Cover AUSTRALIA or US or CUBA or SINGAPORE (all countries) by 40s.
I have no idea how I am going to achieve all these including my dream car… .  As for now, I think I need more money.  The question is how do I make more risk-free money other than my business & investment now? I have no idea..

I will just continue to persue my number 1 dream for now and start working on the rest once it is stabalized. Pray fully too it will fullfill all the rest of my dreams in my life.

Life

May  31 2010

Life often evolves in a very mysterious way, bringing along unanticipated experiences and therefore lessons. The outcome of our life is resulted from how we respond to these experiences. If we received it with open arms, learn to adapt and evolve with it… we progress, we grow. On the other hand, one who resent it, rejects it… regress into anger, bitterness & and eventually… depression.

The fundamental difference is ’CHOICE’… how we choose to respond when life experiences come knocking on our door.

The second fundamental is… to love, respect and be patient with one another despite the choices they made. We can still do that though we might disagree with his/her choice.

What’s freedom… actually?

May 30 2010

When we were kids…Being waken from our sleep, Dragged to school through the years. Life seems like a bottomless peak…We can’t wait for freedom after graduations. When we started work, As bills and debts mountains. We can’t wait to get married… with someone to share our burdens yet after D’day… we lost ourselves trying to be good spouse, in-laws, and  parents..

Life is trapped once again and we lost completely, our freedom. When they are all gone… the young and old
The mountains of debts and bills and parenting guilt.Life finally found its freedom…Only to face with our body saying… it’s about time to draw down the curtains…

So… what’s freedom… actually?.

May 28 2010

The hardest thing in life, is choosing to let go of something beatiful, and dearly loved..

Lost

May 27 2010

Facebook, AIM, Photobucket, LinkedIn, Xing, NetLog, Twitter, FriendFeed, Rediff, Google, Hotmail, Podcast, flickr, Blog, WordPress, YouTube, RSS, Digg, Delicious… with hundreds of feeds, thousands of applications… new games, movies, music, messages and news streaming into our life by the second.  We are living in a very exciting age with so many choices and so much we can do vie the world of net…
… Sometimes we do not realized how lost we are.

I Miss You...

 May 26 2010

It was almost perfect in every little way…
The gentle touch, the quiet whisper and the assuring voice.
It brings cheer into my life, yet tears through many nights.
I knew it all along, it is not mine to own.
Thus this chapter is written… the final finale…

I don't feel like....

May 24 2010

I don’t feel like going out tonight.
I don’t feel like walking through the cold and mist in the dark.
I don’t feel like having the wind hit me in the face making my eyes water.
I don’t feel like being an acrobat placing my feet in just the right spots so I don’t fall.
I don’t feel like being out twice as long because it takes that much longer to walk anywhere.

I have to go to my work tonight; the one I signed up for just to socialize.  That’s it; my only motive.  I really get nothing out of it, well, other than meeting a few people.

How do these types of people get a free pass?

May 23 2010

I lay on the icy cold tiles in my room for 2 hours last night crying, just wanting to die. It’s all my broken links.  I’m made up of them.  No one listens to me and I feel like I have no sense of control in my life. What I asked for seemed so simple and I gave clear directions and yet they do what they want instead of what I asked.  I was given a lot of crap that I would have been humiliated to present to anyone.  I never get away with anything like that and it just makes me wonder why I’m held to a higher standard than the rest.  How do these types of people get a free pass?

While on the floor I decided I’m not going back to Pollachi.  It is really dragging me down and I don’t need any reminders of how weak some of my relationships are.  I would have thought twice about taking this steps again if I had known it was going to focus on my weakest skills and my weakest relationships I had.  This isn't the time.  I don’t need to focus on my weaknesses I need to focus on my strengths.  I need to protect myself.  I’m hanging on by a thread.

Casual

May 22 2010

Ignore problems until the very last minute, build up the pressure. I respect looking for something by expecting; simply staring. Heaven forbid I could put work before pleasure. And I do, take pleasure in working more than worrying – My destructive piece of mind struggles otherwise as my lazy side concedes – I believe, everything could be perfect in the end. And constant happiness is possible.

No-one Knows

May 21 2010

How can one describe a feeling so numb?
Of the highest highs and deepest disguise-
I was going to live my life, I swear…

And it won’t be the distance that does it
Nor the constant pushing away
Rather never knowing
Of leaving bed, moods and heads
To sway; to stay, today?

Journey in silence

May 17 2010

This week I have been driving to and from work in silence. A bit of a struggle for me as my mind tends to wander in all sorts of directions if I’m not distracting myself with music or tv or any loud sound to quiet my mind. I’ve found that this mini mental break has actually been really good for me. Not only has it been a nice break for my normally out of control mind, it has given me an opportunity for insight.

This morning on my way into work I was thinking about how my mind works. It is a perfectionist’s mind. It expects daily miracles. There is nothing wrong with setting high goals but in recovery it is important to be realistic. My mind says “do something the correct way once and you will be healed”, the problem with thinking this way is that when I do something the correct way and I still have anxiety, my anxiety gets worse, I beat myself up for not being “better”.

Dreamz!

May 16 2010

I am a dreamer… at least in my sleep.  I dream very frequently as often as every night since very much younger.  Sometimes I love it, especially when I have sufficient sleep and woke up with a smile on my face.  Some times I hate it… especially when I was chasing something or be chased, teeth falling out, falling, fights between love ones, arriving late to some important functions.

Sometimes dreams can be very helpful… a solutions to an issue which I have been working on.  Sometimes it is a warning… like ‘drive carefully!’.  Sometimes it’s a mystery… Sometimes it’s boringly black and white, and sometimes I can remember the colour, the touch, the smells, and the feelings… especially when it is a beautiful dream.

As I aged teen, I began to enjoy dreams more… especially dreams that repeats my Anipra and my daily errants in life.  Whenever I am stressed, my dreams evolve around the situations that I was stressed about…. to the point I have to ask myself , ‘…did I actually made that promise, call that decision, met the person or did that happened in my dream?’…  Whenever that happened, I woke up feeling like I have not slept!.

Tonight, I yearn for dreamless night to have a complete rest after few days of eventful dreams!

I continue to feel better mentally. It has to be attributed to the Oleanz that was newly prescribed. I have always had a low-level depression biting my head even on "good days", but I don't even have that now. Not only that, I am actually sleeping well with no assistance from Ativan. I am getting tired around 10:00pm, go to sleep, sleep through the night and wake up at a good time. It is amazing to me that this is occurring when remembering how not long ago I would go night after night with no sleep.

Could all of this be the Oleanz? Does it really give "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"? (love that movie, by the way)

I think...

May 6 2010

I think that sometimes, people don't die from suicide or from accidents or illnesses.

I think that sometimes, people die because they simply lose their will to continue with life.

Once the will to keep fighting is gone, something changes in their hearts.

With no will to keep going, you simply don't.

Ineffective Daily Affirmations

May 4 2010

Feeling blue or insecure? Losing sight of what’s important? Still searching for the real “you”? In this self-help age of soul-searching, daily affirmations have been known to do the trick.
But you probably shouldn’t try these …
I have the power to channel my imagination into ever-soaring levels of suspicion and paranoia.
I assume full responsibility for my actions, except the ones that are someone else’s fault.
I no longer need to punish, deceive or compromise myself. Unless, of course, I want to be employed.
In some cultures what I do would be considered normal.
Having control over myself is nearly as good as having control over others.
My intuition nearly makes up for my lack of good judgment.
I can change any thought that hurts into a reality that hurts even more.
I honor my personality flaws, for without them I would have no personality at all.
I am grateful that I am not as judgmental as all those censorious, self- righteous people around me.
I need not suffer in silence while I can still moan, whimper and complain.
When someone hurts me, forgiveness is cheaper than a lawsuit. But not nearly as gratifying.
All of me is beautiful and valuable, even the ugly, stupid and disgusting parts.
I am at one with my duality.
Only a lack of imagination saves me from immobilizing myself with imaginary fears.
I honor and express all facets of my being, regardless of state and local laws.
Today I will gladly share my experience and advice, for there are no sweeter words than “I told you so.”
I am learning that criticism is not nearly as effective as sabotage.
Becoming aware of my character defects leads me to the next step — blaming my parents.
I will find humor in my everyday life by looking for people I can laugh at.

Wanna ride huh?

Found Note...

May 2 2010

I have been so busy lately. I know I have a lot to catch up on, reading and writing, but will be busy the next few days. Sorry. I owe Pooja a reply on her disclosure post and I read a very interesting post by Sruthi  that I want to comment on. But I was going through some things in my storage area and came across this note … I wanted to share it:

On This Day:

Mend a quarrel

Search for a forgotten friend

Dismiss a suspicion, replace it with trust.

Write a letter to someone who misses you

Encourage a youth who has lost faith

Keep a promise

Forget an old grudge

Examine your demands on others and vow to reduce them.

Fight for a principle

Express your gratitude

Overcome an old fear

Take two minutes to appreciate the beauty of nature

Downloaded krithi & kavin Photos

Tell someone you love him/her

Tell them again

and again

and again.

99% vs. 100% honesty

May 1 2010

Two days ago, I stopped telling little stupid lies. Since then, my life has improved by a ridiculous amount.

There is a big difference between 99% and 100%. 100% committed is far more powerful than 99% committed. 100% confident is far more useful than 99% confident. And 100% honest is far more empowering than 99% honest.

99% honest is pretty good, it’s true. The 1% of my dishonesty was mostly either “fudging by rounding” or “little white lies”.  Here are some examples.

Mom: “Did you see that actor sivakumar's speech in vijay tv ?”

Me: “Yeah, it was really nice!”

My thoughts: “Huh, why did I say that? I didn’t see it at all.”

Dad: “Are you okay with this plan?”

Me: “Yeah.”

My thoughts: “I’m mostly okay with this plan, and that’s close enough that I don’t feel like making a big deal out of it.”

I AM THE IMBALANCE OF NEGLECT

April 27 2010

What if no one cares? WHAT THE F*** WILL THAT MEAN? What have I been living for? What is really keeping me alive? Is there someone in this world that I am living for? Must I always find out the hard way and suffer other people’s consequences? There is no relief. This world offers none. There is no meaning to the actions I do. My intent is unknown to myself. Everyone matters. I am not everyone. I am the imbalance of neglect. I am the F***ING IMBALANCE OF NEGLECT.

Why is it that when I am alone, I feel too lonely, and when I am with other people, I want to be alone? Why is there such an imbalance? Is it me? I bet it is. I am neglected, and I am the reason for it. I am the source of the lies that I live and that others believe. I am the imbalance of neglect.

Why am I alive?

When will it end? My heart hurts. My eyes thirst. My mind has lost motivation. When will it end? When can I finally just die?

Is my desire for death genuine? Can anyone give me an answer to that? I cannot imagine myself in the future anymore. I have stopped dreaming completely for what my future might hold. There is nothing to dream for, and there is nothing to live for. Why is everything so artificial?

No one

April 26 2010

No one will ever begin to understand me. No one. No one. No one. No one.

They all stare and pretend. I will never even understand myself because my damn personality and views keep changing. What did I do to deserve this?

This life sucks. There is no value in anything. Everything is meaningless. My mind is strained too much for me to enjoy living. Why must I choose to live? I hate everything.

There is no reason to live. Only excuses.

I was so blind!

April 25 2010

Finally! I know my purpose! I was so blind!

All I wanted was happiness. I now know that it is unrealistic. It’s too stupid. It’s like the lottery, but only more people win it. However, I am not meant to be happy. Happiness is not for me. I now know it. It’s not the way I’ll be. I was not that fortunate. Life is never what you make it to be. Life is only what you are given.

My purpose is to serve others, to love others. I can do that. I will not seek help from others, for I’m a man. I don’t need help. I need to help others. That’s what I’m here for. I’m not some ignorant brat who’s constantly happy and has a “life” and hangs out with others. I am meant for other works. Satisfaction is not to be felt, but rather to be known and understood.

Six secrets

April 24 2010

I found this tucked away somewhere while i was cleaning up.

1. Listen more than u talk.

2. Avoid the temptation to criticize

3. Make others feel important, show interest in what they do.

4. Keep smiling and be friendly.

5. Dont hesitate to ask for a reasonable favor, it helps the others prestige.

6. Use the pronoun ‘You’ rather than ‘I’.

Past Forward

April 23 2010

I look back at my life, and I realize I’ve always been running after something.. Money.. Safety.. Love.. Understanding.. Fun.. And here I am now, unsure if that’s what I really wanted all along?

The last 10 years have just whizzed by.. with me moving from one ‘logical’ step to another, and here I am now, unsure if I want that logic anymore?

I feel (at) peace and frustration..

I feel lost and caged..

I feel loved and misunderstood..

I feel hopeless, yet hopeful..

I feel empty, yet insightful..

I feel anger, yet calm..

I feel crushed, yet full of life..

I feel incomplete and yet so complete..

I feel it’s time to ask those tough questions.. and It’s time to answer them truthfully..

I feel it’s time to live without fear or anxiety.. and It’s time to just be..

I feel it’s time to fly away.. and fly as far away as I can..

I feel it’s time.. Yes! I feel it’s high time!

MBA Student vs Bsc Student

April 22 2010

A MBA and a BSc (cs) go on a camping trip, set up their tent, and fell asleep.
Some hours later, the BSc wakes his MBA friend. ” look up at the sky and tell me what you see.” The MBA replies, “I see millions of stars.”
“What does that tell you?”
The MBA ponders for a minute.
“Astronomically speaking, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.
Astrologically, it tells me that Saturn is in Leo.
Time wise, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three.
Theologically, it’s evident the Lord is all-powerful and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologic ally, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.
What does it tell you?”
The BSc is silent for a moment, then speaks.
“Practically…Someone has stolen our tent”.

PRICELESS WORDS

April 20 2010

A husband wakes up at home with a huge hangover.
He forces himself to open his eyes, and the first thing he sees
is a couple of aspirins and a glass of water on the side table.
He sits down and sees his clothing in front of him, all clean and
pressed. He looks around the room and sees that
it is in perfect order, spotless, clean. So is the rest of the house.
He takes the aspirins and notices a note on the table.
Honey, breakfast is on the table, I left early to go grocery shopping.
Love You!

Totally shocked with the note , he goes to the kitchen and
sure enough there is a hot breakfast and the morning newspaper.
His son is also at the table, eating. He asks, “Son, what happened last night?”
His son says, “Well, you came home around 3 AM, drunk and delirious.
Broke some crockery, puked in the hall, and gave yourself a black eye
when you stumbled into the door”. Confused, the man asks,
“So, why is everything in order and so clean, and
breakfast is on the table waiting for me?
I should expect a big quarrel with her!”
His son replies, “Oh, that! Mom dragged you to the bedroom,
and when she tried to take your clothes n shoes off,
you said,

LADY LEAVE ME ALONE! I’M MARRIED!

Moral
Self-induced hangover –Rs 400.00
Broken crockery – Rs 800.00
Breakfast – Rs 10.00
Saying the Right Thing While Drunk – “PRICELESS “

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don’t like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don’t even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks. And always remember….

Good friends are like stars……..
You don’t always see them,
But you know they are always there.
I would rather have one rose and a kind word
from a friend while I’m here
than a whole truck load when I’m gone.
Forward to all your friends.
And don’t tell me you’re too busy for this..
Don’t you know the phrase

See how many “bouquets” you end up with!

Idiotic Madness

April 17 2010

Feeling
A word that describes what one feels.
I was being crushed under some feelings for last many days (and its not over yet).
here are those feelings (please forgive me for not elaborating the real life circumstances):

Helplessness
You know something is going to happen (sooner or later), something that is clearly going to change your life (at least to some extent). And all you can do is wait and wait and wait and…..

Hopelessness
Now you know how helplessness is going around you, hopelessness is the one who takes things to next level. You stop seeing/finding any way out from the situation. you start feeling hopelessly helpless.

Lifelessness
When you are hopelessly helpless, you can’t help but feel everything a bit more lifeless. Nothing makes you happy, nothing makes you smile, nothing makes you feel envy anymore.

Pessimistically Optimistic
Until now, you are helpless, and you are hopelessly trying to do all lifeless routines, and then you reach a pessimistically optimistic feeling (something like,” It will be better to face it sooner than later”).
Leave me alone type of loneliness
Now you are optimistically expecting pessimistic things to happen, you want to be left alone. You need privacy, you need time for yourself……. in which you keep feeling lonely. You don’t want to be disturbed but it doesn’t mean you don’t want anyone around. Weird thing is, you want to be alone at the same time loneliness is killing you.

Idiotic Madness
At last you reach the supremacy. Now you are nearly mad or you think so. You behave like an idiot and ask stupid questions. You try keeping your loved ones at a distance (not that you don’t need them) because you fear their caring. You think you don’t deserve it. Life sucks. It screws you for things you ought to have done in past but you didn’t. You can’t understand Life fully, ever, no one can!! But this does not mean you shouldn't try to understand, actually, you should!!

Then one day, your dear friend tells you to vent everything out, write it, tell others about it, and you think “yeah…”.
Next day, Life reminds you of everything written above by playing with you, playing!!
And after staring blankly at “Create New Post” box for half an hour, you start writing something at 3.15AM, and now you check the calendar and with a jolt of heart you notice that its the same day you were planning of returning to blogging.
Yes, I am back.
with new hopes (because, after Idiotic Madness, a news comes which tells you that Life haven’t given you up yet!!!)

Its damn addictive!!

April 16 2010

Have you ever tried using StumbleUpon ?

Its damn addictive!!

Addiction is a strong word. Its the word which changed lifes of two people. Well, not exactly…. but this is what they said to each other….”.. its becoming an addiction….” and then it really became an addiction for lifetime.

Am I making sense? No? Oops!! Someday, I will elaborate about it. Till then your guess is as perfect as anybody else’s.

Just try that stumbleupon once, I doubt there will be very few people in the world who won’t like it.

Cheers

Missing You...

April 15 2010

Last week, I dined at People's Park (annapoorna) in Coimbatore. After dinner, I went for ice cream or something like that. Pushing the glass door open (which has a big wheel for handle), I glanced a little left. And my (already pounding) heart gave a jolt and resumed with more speed. That table behind the glass, that’s the girl I celebrated my first *true* love. The day, the date and the occasion will never leave my memory lane ever.

It happens a lot now a days. Everywhere I go, the place has a memory, of her, of being there with her, of having spent most happiest moments of life (so far) with her.

Few years ago, we used to spend long nice evenings and weekends together and suddenly I found myself alone and her far far away than she had ever gone. Not that she left me forever, not that we severed ties, but still, the circumstances forced me for moving to another city. Things just didn't settle after her going away, as I (am sure) was marked for experience of being God’s Yo-Yo.

Missing You
She moved in with her family and bad days returned spreading sadness everywhere. For obvious reasons, we now talk in our dreams. Some days even pass without listening the voices of each other (which is the root of all this story).

Flexibility being my most adored quality, I adjusted my lifestyle to fill the blank space created by her absence. But I never saw this coming. I knew I would miss her but…. Now, I can’t bear to go any place I have visited with her. I just can’t concentrate on anything. I keep missing her smile, missing her glances while talking, missing her eyes for locking, missing her hands while walking and much more things…. I just miss everything. Everything seems like missing from my life. Every Happy feeling, every enjoying moments, everything. Its just like I have lost myself again.

For a month or so I didn't realize her absence as I was busy. Now empty head leads to weird thoughts. And my mind feels her absense instead. May be this will last only few days and then I will get used to it. But still I don’t know how long. I haven’t even dared to visit Pollachi or any Temples, Malls, Roads, Lanes where we spent most of our time yet. I just lose my vigilance and everything and become a person whose head is empty and eyes vacant.

My family must have noticed this as I can see them trying to change subjects and stop me from entering this vacant feel when someone mentions her. This won’t feel like being God’s Yo Yo though. Things would have been much worse if it was the case.

Feeling much better now. Speaking out always helps (even if its not making any sense for others)

My brain surely needs some tweaking.

Life is not as simple as it seems…… or may be it is.

Say Something about Sharmila!!
