A birthday agony!

February 27 2012

Come February the month of love,
I go back into glimpses of the past
Whoever said that time heals everything
Didn't really know the pain of clinging.

Yet another year passes by,
With some old memories
Proving your deceitful existence
Beyond what my eyes can see.

Sometimes, just a glimpse of you,
In my dreams would suffice
But today its not a day of that kind
When I have logic on my mind.

Romantic stories and tales of laughter,
Kisses and your sprouts of pamper
Motorbike rides and paths of sunshine
Are still safe in my heart's old mine.

Four long years I count today,
Mocking me from the corners of my own eyes
They say, you have left for good
You are healthy, and in a happy mood.

I can only assume they are facts,
For, I know you forget me and
You see me as  a  coward,
As always you are wrong.

Power Of Muteness

February 26 2012

The above photo was taken when the Thai President Yingluck Shinwatra met the Indian Prime minister.

Many people around the globe call Manmohan as a mute Prime minister. But we should remember that  Mr.Manmohan Singh has single handedly tackled all the rocks thrown at him with one great weapon and that is SILENCE.
The above photo was taken when the South Korean President Lee Myung Bak visited India. This conversation between Manmohan Singh and the South Korean First man was overheard by our waste correspondent.  Now the social media chat platforms are working on for creating the Manmohan smiley and the Lee Myung smiley.

Someone somewhere said that Silence is the best answer to many questions. Our PM lives that quote. I am not being sarcastic here. He has the power to quench fiery darts thrown by Malika, Terror Romeo(T Rajender) and Subramaniyam Samy. Such is the power of MUTEness.
Back home, we always fight for the remote control.

When my mom uses the remote control, devotional channels will run on TV.

When I use the remote control, it would be Discovery or the Comedy channels.

When my dad uses the remote control, it would be the Channel Scan button which would be crying for mercy.

Similarly the congress supremo Sonia used a powerful weapon and that weapon has even tackled Anna Hazare.
A fan mailed me and said, " Pepsiboy, your posts should be informative". Now you know the name of the presidents of two countries through this post. Even I struggled hard to find the name of the Thai President. At first , i thought she must be a Chinese lady and googled for Manmohan Singh with Chinese lady. It gave me dangerous search results. Then I searched for Japanese lady, Korean lady, Hong Kong, King Kong , Taiwan and finally found the name of the lady when I searched for Thai lady. So great hard work has gone for constructing this post.

When ever I talk about hard work, a few people come to my mind.  One such person is Power Star Srinvasan. He has taken the world by storm with his acting prowess. He is the complete package; every girl's dream man and he has the charisma of Rajnikanth and the talent of Kamal Hassan. One should watch his movies before their death. If you watch his movie, that would indeed be your death day.
Finally, I would end this post with one of the greatest statistical calculation ever made to find the best Indian cricketer of all time. This is the result of the greatest research.

It becomes harder to pretend

February 20 2012

Please don't ask me what it is
Its very difficult to tell
The grief, the pain, has gone deep within
Deeper than you can smell

Don't wonder whose fault it is
Is it fate or my own creation
I have pondered enough on thoughts like these
And realized there's no conclusion

Every morning when day should start afresh
I have thoughts lingering over mind
And you think, certain things are wrong
Oh! why, but few are right!

Please don't try to search my eyes
I don't hide emotions there
You don't know, but I have mastered the art
Of hiding feelings nowhere

The little smiles I tried to preserve
Have become difficult to upkeep
And you thought I m such a jovial guy
You don't know whats there in deep

Don't ask me about my silent hours
I may not disclose them ever
I keep talking for long long hours
But my silence is hidden forever

The shell was hard, not easy to break
But has now been broken and bent
Don't question how I live like this
It becomes harder to pretend.

Birthday Poem

February 19 2012

This poem is exclusively dedicated to Thiyagu, my super awesome friend who celebrated his birthday today.

On this very special day, I’ll just say,
that poems travel a long long way
that’s why this one was always ‘on the way’
but here it is today!!
Wishing you a happy happy birthday!
Of course I know that won’t do!
This verse is something old and new
for you this year that fleetingly flew
behind us, as we grudgingly grew;
reminding today,
Of all the memories that lay afloat
in my mind, it is hard to quote
the most memorable, hard to note
the funniest joke, for me to gloat
what an awesome person I got to know! ;)
I hope, Someday on your birthday,
A poem like this will travel a long way
and blink and beep on your  Samsung black berry
while you’re listening to your favorite tune
driving on a highway in your alto  (or ur Inova!)car
Off to a day of mountain climbing,
backpack full of  carlsberg beer cans…
I wish you everything nice, earth to stars.
And Every year on this day
(might be late, I can’t say happy birthday))
my poem will travel a long way
Like it did today
to wish you a happy happy birthday Thiyagu!

Happy Valentines Day (not for me)

February 14 2012

Cause today is the only day that makes me aware of how very very single i am...every other day i honestly don't care.

A library of questions

February 13 2012

Discovering yourself. It’s a hard task. . There is no time that you would sit and introspect. What do you want? Why do you want it? Is it a crazy obsession that will fade away as you get your hands on it? Or is it something that would change who you are? Is it even relevant?

You wake up. Brushing is a herculean task. You skip it and your mom serves you your breakfast. coffee and two pieces of idly's. The same everyday.

You log on to the web. Sadness pours onto your blog. The hours of your day vanish away before you can count till 100 in your brain. Nature's call, hunger and other things happen in short breaks ranging from 3.56 to 3.57 minutes.

You realise its evening. From putting away looking into the mirror due to shame to the your day-by-day firming opinion how you should get used to living a fattie all your life because that's how it feels is supposed to be. You get back home thinking about various #EpicFail ways and diets you ll do the next day. You run to your computer like a mother running to her just found kid. You make desperate attempts at being funny at Facebook. No one rebloged. No new followers. Finally your bum gives in to be glued at a single place for hours. You literally experience what 'pain in the body’ feels like. Late night consecutive reruns of Big Bang theory, Two and a Half men, Glee and Supernatural replace the tradition of bed time stories. You put the Television on a sleep timer and close your eyes before it shuts down. Dark makes you imagine all type of creatures. Its time to sleep.

All through the day you just keep yourself involved so that you don't have to think about more pressing issues. How life was supposed to be about a successful businessman. How the dreams and the plans to work day and night were being tweeted away. Ambition was forgotten. Getting yourself drunk on an overdose of a desperate virtual life and ignorance somehow trying to not think about the nightmare that is near. A result that is sure to have you flunked.

Do I want to live the rest of my life this way, messing up my social life?
Do I want to be a successful businessman?
Do I want to go on a crash diet, fat burners look good on the cost of my fucked up health?
Do I want to ignore all the calls of people until they get tired enough to try anymore?

Hundreds of questions circling your mind with the same answer. I don’t know.

But there is one question I firmly know the answer to :

Do I want people telling me how to get my life straight, how to correct my sleep cycle, how I should be working, how social life needs to be given a chance?

NO.

Dear Procrastination

February 12 2012

Dear Procrastination,
I am so over you. I am leaving you for your eternity-old-nemesis Work.
Don't try to find us for atleast 2 days. I plan on making arrangements for our wedding (me and my work) and you are cordially NOT invited.

With love, (not really)
Me.
Is anyone else in love with new computers and CCTV's too?

P.S : Not reading blogs, commenting and stuff. But that doesn't mean I don't love you. . Just paying for my past sins. [Not working enough last projects and having to work harder than ever in this one]
These computers and CCTV's are an on-demand Valentine's day gift. And needless to say THE BEST EVAA.

Enjoying Life

February 11 2012

Thanks Shreeja for reminding me that I have a blog to update. And since I have nothing to write and no inspiration whats-so-ever to cook up a story, here is what you wanted to read from me ;-) (I assume you and everyone else is interested to know each and every detail of the awesome life I have)

When I am not blogging, I am

Decorating my newly-found cute-little-room-apartment :)
Giving advice, even if no-one wants it
Watching a movie
Organizing and re-organizing my stuff. Maybe I'll start color-coding things now.
Sympathizing with friends who got married, and making them realize that there is more to life than being happy
Eating, Facebook-ing, all at the same time
Wondering how some boys around me would continue to wear the cotton pants in-spite of  simple jeans
Home-Alone enjoying being with myself
Attending Weddings. Marriage is a such a communicable disease I tell you later
Reading Fountainhead. God knows when I'll be able to finish
Reminding people not to mess with my-highness
Being too lazy to type
Blaming about random people
Enjoying Life

But, I better be back soon. All I need is a story.Oh, maybe the real come-back post is just round the corner.

I just have to deal with it!

February  9, 2012

Lately, I have been faced with series of inefficiency from the technical industries and service departments…. My patience is running out.

Inefficiency really gets into me especially when the expectations are clearly spelled out, one is sufficiently equipped to do their job well, and we pay for the services…

My buddy told me… not everyone has the same level of expectations like us… sometime that’s the way it is… sometimes the world sucks… they are  just not as perfection and efficient as I expect it to be

I just have to deal with it!

I may choose euthanasia

February 8 2012

Emptiness choking my breath,
Making me to lean towards death,
Couldn't see anything except the color black,
Always wishing for someone to come back,
Lost in fairy tale which I thought was true,
It's may be pleasing to see the shades of blue.
Was a fool to feel beautiful,
Sanity warned but insanity overruled,
Trust is gone, soul is dead,
I feel no pain even when my cuts bleed.
Being tired of heartaches, I may choose euthanasia,
It's getting hard to have dysphoria.

where was all the green??

February 7 2012

The last time I traveled by air was a long time ago so I don’t remember anything except the air sickness. So this time I lost no time enjoying the view outside the window. Intently following the map on the LCD screen before me, I enjoyed guessing whose head we might be flying over. It was hard because all we could see was the clouds spread like whipped cream delicately nestling our gigantic air bus.
So back to the point, as we were nearing out destination, I peered outside to catch the landing process. At first it was vast stretches of brown, then a few specks of white and blue here and there.

It was then I noticed, my eyes shuttling from the monitor to the window. The screen showed a physical map of India and a tiny shape of airplane indicating our location. And the place where the tiny airplane was, was completely green. I looked outside- where was all the green??

The little white building block structures became larger and larger but the soothing colour of mother earth’s delicate drapes became untraceable.
At an altitude of 1000km, my heart grew heavy, sank to the ground and broke to pieces.

government bus!

February 6 2012
After travelling for nearly 6 hours in a government bus, now I say real beauty is the auto which carried me and my luggage safely home. And my messy room where I can finally dump those bags and stretch my hands. Sitting on a vibrating seat for six hours with a fat guy next to me taking up three fourth of the seat is not easy.
Next time, I'm taking the train. uff.................

My Blog's Mantra

February 5 2012

Something I read in my childhood.
These three simple sentences made me take writing in my blog.
Today I just felt like sharing it.....

Childhood Games

February 3 2012

Remember this? The Natraj Pencil which most of us would have used when we were in school! I would use the pencil sharpener to create such flower designs from the pencil wood. Have you dunnit?

This post will take us all back down memory lane.
Have you been a victim of corporal punishment? Kneeling down, Put chair, raising hands, out-standing-student are some of the terms that will flash across many minds. Have you dunnit?

Bed wetting is an International sport of any child. I have played this sport till I was 10 years old. How many of you have played this sport for longer period of time? My college mate Sudharsan used to play this sport even when we were in college.
One of the favorite games for any child is the "hide and seek " game. Most children select the "bed" to hide. I recently played this game with my niece and nephew and I was seeing history repeating itself in front of my own eyes.
If you have not eaten big fun, you have missed the cream of your childhood. The small stamp that has details of cricketers accompanies Big fun bubble gum.  Big fun was the fore runners of the Trump card games.

Cassette tapes and Video cassettes were a part of our life in the 70s,80s and 90s and the children of the present day are missing a great deal in life because of CDS and USBs. How many of you have pulled the tapes out of the cassettes? I used to put a pen inside the cassette hole and used to manually rewind it for my favorite songs.
Parents would say ," Don't play with the electric switch board". But that would not deter us from playing with switches. I have often tried to balance the switch between the ON and OFF position to see when exactly the light goes off. Have you dunnit?
The kindergarten school kids of the present generation start their writing exercises in note books. But during those days, we had a black slate and a small chalk piece. Holding the chalk piece and writing the letter A on the slate would bring a great deal of joy to the mother of the kid.
Bril Ink was a part of  my life during my entire primary, high school and higher secondary school days. One student would lend some drops of ink from one pen to another pen. The inks are also sometimes sprayed on the white uniform shirt of students especially on the last day of school.
Travelling like slaves in auto rickshaws does not end in school. An IT corporate employee still travel in cabs and buses like this. I have traveled like this in an auto rickshaw. We would all fight to sit in the front seat next to the auto rickshaw driver.
Now , How many among you have played this game. It should be the national sport of India. All you need is a tyre and a small stick. Some of the greatest tyre controllers are 3 year old kids. I have done this. Have you dunnit?
RingAringA Roses... The official girl gang game. Boys also play this game. I really don't know what fun we get from a game where eventually all fall down. But that's the great boon of being a child; you get to have fun on any game that might sound foolish to others.

I feel like playing some game that I used to play when I was a child. What about you?

Please mention the games you played when you were a child

What comes to your mind , when you think of WINDOWS?

February 2 2012

I don't know who coined that word and I don't even know who built the first window. The first window might have been the window in Noah's ark. But I am not sure of the exact purpose with which our forefathers designed and invented windows for.
Now a days Windows are used for many purposes. When I was a little boy, I used to climb the window grill at my house. When my mom chased me around the house to beat me, I would climb the window and   enter the top rack near the roof. The window used to help me a lot. But then we moved to our new house and the architecture of the house was so different. There were no more racks near the roofs and the french windows made it impossible for me to climb.
In 1985 Microsoft launched its operating system and called it Windows. My brother first bought home a computer in the year 1992 and then we had the Windows 3.0 operating system. Now we have a whole garbage of windows versions. Why did they name an operating system as windows? Those who named it will give lot of philosophically right reasons for that name; but they too just named it without a clue. Now windows is famous and lets not bother trying to figure why they named it windows.
If not for windows and keyholes, the peeping toms would never have found a place for themselves on earth. The above line is not true, because a peeping tom would invariably find his own way to take a peek into the personal lives of others. Still who cares? The peeping Toms would be smiling reading this paragraph. For those who do not know what a peeping Tom means ~ don't worry. We all are peeping Toms. How many of us have watched the Nithyananda-Ranjitha romance video on Sun TV and on YouTube?
Moving to a different area, Windows are also used to dry clothes. For many Indian men, the horizontal beam in the window is the official underwear drying spot. You can identify such men by looking at their underwear. When I walk out of my house, I am always greeted by all the clothes that dry at my neighbor's window. Researches show that those who dry their clothes in the window live a long and happy life.
Windows are also the target for rubber balls by kids. Windows have the magnetic power to attract rubber balls towards them. The windows have played a major role in creating fights between little children and older people.
Windows have also become an integral part of ladies blouses. In olden days, Indian women never wore blouses for sarees. Then they  started wearing blouses. As days went by doors, grills and windows became mandatory designs in the blouses. When I was class 12, my class girls wore sarees only on the final school day function. On that day, we came across many window versions. Even today the window blouses are still very much in use. Some of the blouses with windows have no frames.

What comes to your mind , when you think of WINDOWS?

I think I will get married this year!

February 1 2012

Finally I am awake from a long blog slumber. Yes It was a long sleep. Today, I opened my mail box to see a number of mails from readers who had inquired about the reason for my absence from my blog. Some of the mails reminded me that I used to be funny and that I am not funny anymore. Some mails made me happy because the readers considered me as their daily dose of humor giver. Some mails were from girls who wrote that they are gonna commit suicide because I am not going to write anymore. There was one guy who had sent his resume to work as HR manager for Prabhupepsi incorporation. (சங்கமே  அபராதத்துல  ஓடும்  போது  இப்படி  ஒரு கடிதம் ஆ ?). Immediately I decided to reply to all he mails. I even thought of coming up with answers for all the emails. Some of the answers were

1) I had too much of sugarcane for pongal and hence was being treated for diabetes

2) I  was waiting for Vijay's nanban movie and was shocked to see him finally do a good performance after 15 years and it took some time to come out of the shock

3) I was screened by Kapil Sibal.

Where shall I start this post now. Ok lemme first wish everyone 2012 will be a year when the mayan calendar would be put to shame. The Mayans never knew that we have super star Rajnikanth. His son-in-law Dhanush's song "Why this kolaveri di" has become a viral phenomenon across the globe. My house maid hums this song when ever I give her some extra work. Dhanush has become an international star now. The problem with super hit songs is that you will like the song the first few days and after a point of time, when everyone starts singing the song and when you start hearing it everywhere you start disliking the song. Kolaveri has reached that level. It has more hits than any Michael Jackson youtube uploads. I am glad that Rajnikanth did not sing the song. If so, it would have become the national anthem by now.

By the way, I think I will get married this year. May be more posts about married life will be posted this year. It is a slow and late start to the year and I started this post with a yawn. It is gonna be a great year indeed.

Be good and stay safe and have a wonderful year.
